Atlas

Site-level control and integration platform for multi-vendor clean energy systems.

What Atlas is

Atlas is NovaFir’s site integration and control platform for commercial and institutional clean energy systems. It connects to inverters, batteries, generators, meters, and other site equipment to coordinate how those assets operate together as a single system.

Atlas does not sit in the electrical power path and does not replace certified power equipment. Instead, it operates as a secure overlay layer that integrates and supervises multi-vendor equipment across the site.

Why Atlas exists

Commercial clean energy sites often rely on a mix of equipment from multiple vendors, each with its own monitoring tools, protocols, and operational constraints. This fragmentation increases engineering effort, complicates commissioning, and makes long-term operations harder to manage.

Atlas is designed to replace brittle custom integrations and legacy SCADA-style architectures with a repeatable, secure, and energy-specific site control layer.

Multi-vendor integration

Connects to diverse equipment types using standardized and extensible interfaces.

Operational coordination

Enforces site-level policies such as export limits, curtailment, and load priorities.

Secure by design

Modern authentication and encrypted communications designed for operational technology environments.

Edge-first site operation

Atlas operates locally at the site, ensuring that coordination and safety functions continue even if external connectivity is unavailable. This is critical for remote locations, industrial facilities, and coastal environments where network reliability cannot be assumed.

Cloud services can enhance visibility and fleet operations, but Atlas is designed to maintain core site functionality independently.

How Atlas fits into the NovaFir commercial architecture

Atlas operates between device-level control systems and higher-level operational intelligence. It provides the secure communications and integration foundation that ASCEND uses to orchestrate the site.
